Sam Warning (Minnesota), Tyler Motte (Michigan) and Justin Kloos (Minnesota) earn weekly honors

Michigan forward Tyler Motte and Minnesota forwards Sam Warning and Justin Kloos have been named the Big Ten’s Three Stars for the week ending Oct. 20. Each week throughout the 2013-14 season, the Big Ten will name a first star, second star and third star to honor top individual performers from across the conference.

First Star

Sam Warning, Minnesota
F – Jr. – Chesterfield, Mo.

· Tallied five points (three goals, two assists) to lead the Gophers to a road sweep over Bemidji State
· Tied for the national scoring lead with nine points (five goals, four assists) this season
· Recorded three points (one goal, two assists) in Friday's 6-3 win, including a helper on the game-winning goal
· Added a pair of goals, including the game winner, in Saturday's 5-1 victory
· Has recorded three multi-point games this season and has netted a goal in each contest
· Earns his second career weekly honor after being named Second Star on Oct. 15
· Last Minnesota honoree: Sam Warning (Second Star) and Kyle Rau (Third Star) on Oct. 15, 201

Second Star

Tyler Motte, Michigan
F – Fr. – St. Clair, Mich.

· Notched goals in both games as Michigan claimed a win and a tie at No. 13 New Hampshire
· Scored Michigan’s lone goal in Friday night’s 1-1 tie
· Tallied the overtime game-winning goal on Saturday to give the Wolverines the 3-2 victory
· Extended his goal-scoring streak to three games
· One of only four freshmen in the nation with three or more goals this season
· Records his first career Big Ten weekly award
· Last Michigan honoree: Andrew Copp (First Star) on Oct. 15, 2013

Third Star

Justin Kloos, Minnesota
F – Fr. – Lakeville, Minn.

· Notched five points (one goal, four assists) to help Minnesota claim a pair of victories at Bemidji State
· Tied for the Big Ten freshman scoring lead with six points (two goals, four assists) this season
· Recorded his first career multi-point game on Friday with a pair of assists
· Tallied 3 points (1 goal, 2 assists) on Saturday to help Minnesota complete the sweep, including the lone assist on the game-winning goal
· Claims his first career Big Ten weekly award
· Last Minnesota honoree: Sam Warning (Second Star) and Kyle Rau (Third Star) on Oct. 15, 2013
