He brought some interesting points about how they kept running with Nelson and it looked like a Leidner offense they were running instead of a passing attack in which if they were running with Nelson as much as they were they should have gave Leidner a shot at running and see what he can do with his legs. They also said that Kill stated that he was the better QB for passing but it looked like to them they were trying to run more of running with a QB offense. It was stated in the show that Mason once said that your dual threat QB is your gem around the offense who can both pass and has the legs and obviously coming off the injury he had none and that Leidner could have been better for that style of offense. They were saying they should have given Leidner a series or two to give Nelson a break and see what Leidner could do in the Big Ten for his first time and we will never know. They also brought up the point they did the same offense the whole which was predictable to Iowa by the 2nd half and the gophers were still playing with the same offense. They stated no matter how Leidner could have done it would have been good to switch up the offensive style which is overall different with another QB. They talked about of course of how wildly inaccurate Nelson was and how he missed easy opportunities that could have kept us in the game.
