MSBN CHANNEL 1 - SECTION 3AAAAA QUARTERFINAL: #7 APPLE VALLEY EAGLES(1-7, 1-7 LAKE CONFERENCE #2 ROSEMOUNT IRISH (5-3, 4-3 LAKE CONFERENCE): The Apple Valley Eagles and the Rosemount Irish will play for the second time this season, as the two teams will meet at Apple Valley High School in Apple Valley, MN on Tuesday night (due to poor field conditions at Irish Stadium in Rosemount). Rosemount comes into the playoffs on a winning note, having defeated Edina in the final game of the regular season, 35-8. Apple Valley, meanwhile, will be looking to win their first game since September 9, when they defeated Burnsville 17-14; a streak that spans six straight losses. In these two teams’ first match-up of the season, the Irish defeated the Eagles Rosemount by a final score of 31-0. Nick Walsh will handle the play-by-play duties for the Minnesota Sports Broadcast Network, with Joe Dunford providing color commentary. Game time is set for 7:00, with pregame beginning at 6:30.

MSBN CHANNEL 2 – SECTION 1AAAAA QUATERFINAL: #6 FARMINGTON TIGERS (3-5, 2-5 MISSOTA CONFERENCE) VS. #3 LAKEVILLE NORTH PANTHERS (6-2, 5-2 LAKE CONFERENCE): Two schools that sit just five miles apart will meet in the section 1AAAAA quarterfinals, as the #6-seeded Farmington Tigers will head to Lakeville to take on the #3-seeded Lakeville North Panthers. The Tigers are coming off a 27-6 loss to New Prague in the final game of the regular season, and have lost four of their past five games. Lakeville North, meanwhile, heads into the playoffs having won their past two games, including a 27-7 victory over Apple Valley in week eight, and have won four of their past five games overall. Darrel Bimberg will call the play-by-play for MSBN, alongside Brad Prestemon with color commentary. Kickoff for this game will begin at 7:00 pm, with pregame set for 6:30 pm.

MSBN CHANNEL 3 – SECTION 1AAAAA QUATERFINAL: #7 ROCHESTER JOHN MARSHALL ROCKETS (1-7, 0-7 BIG NINE CONFERENCE) VS. #2 LAKEVILLE SOUTH COUGARS (6-2, 6-2 LAKE CONFERENCE): The Rochester John Marshall Rockets and the Lakeville South Cougars will meet in a Section 1AAAAA quarterfinal from Lakeville South High School, as the two teams will be meeting for the first time in either school’s history. The Rockets are coming into Tuesday’s contest having won just one game in the regular season, and that win came in week one of the season, a 35-12 victory over Minneapolis South. Since then, the Rockets have lost seven straight games by an average score of 42-14. Meanwhile, the Lakeville South Cougars come into their first round match-up on a four-game winning streak, including a 20-13 victory over Burnsville in their final game of the regular season. Their last loss came back on September 25, when they were defeated by Eden Prairie 35-0. Corbu Stathes will have the call of this game for MSBN, with Josh LeVoir providing color commentary. Kickoff for this game will begin at 7:00 pm, with pregame set for 6:30 pm.

MSBN CHANNEL 4 – SECTION 7AAAAA QUATERFINAL: #5 FOREST LAKE RANGERS (4-4, 4-4 SUBURBAN EAST CONFERENCE) VS. #4 ANOKA TORNADOES (5-3, 5-3 NORTHWEST SUBURBAN CONFERENCE): Two teams that are playing their best football of the season will meet a the Section 7AAAAA quarterfinal game at Goodrich Field in Anoka on Tuesday night, as the fifth seeded Forest Lake Rangers will take on the fourth seeded Anoka Tornadoes. The Rangers are coming into the playoffs on a three-game winning streak, defeating Hastings, Park of Cottage Grove and East Ridge. In those three games, the Rangers have been able to light up the scoreboard, averaging 38 points per game in their winning streak. The Tornadoes, however, have also been rolling as of late, as they also carry a three-game winning streak into the playoffs, having knocked off Andover, Elk River, and ParkCenter in their final three contests. Anoka has also been able to get into the end zone at will during that time, as they have been averaging 37 points per game during that streak. These two teams last met in the first round of the 2004 football playoffs, with Anoka defeating ForestLake by a final score of 42-13. Joe Moore will call the game for MSBN, with Ron Johnson providing color commentary. Kickoff for this game is slated for 7:00 pm, with pregame set for 6:30 pm.

MSBN CHANNEL 5 – SECTION 7AAAAA QUATERFINAL: #6 ST. FRANCIS FIGHTING SAINTS (3-5, 2-5 NORTH SUBURBAN CONFERENCE) VS. #3 ANDOVER HUSKIES (6-2, 6-2 NORTHWEST SUBURBAN CONFERENCE): The St. Francis Fighting Saints and the Andover Huskies will try and advance to the Section 7AAAAA semifinals, as they meet at Husky Field in Andover on Tuesday night. The Fighting Saints are coming into the playoffs on a winning note, as they defeated North Branch 34-6 in the final regular season game of the season, and have won two of their last three games overall. Andover, meanwhile, has lost two of their previous games after a 5-0 start to the season, but did defeat Maple Grove 28-14 in week eight of the regular season to finish 6-2. Dan Hoover will have the play-by-play call of Tuesday’s match-up, with Sid Thompson providing color commentary. This game is slated to begin at 7:00 pm, with pregame set for 6:30 pm.

MSBN CHANNEL 6 – SECTION 6AAAAA QUATERFINAL: #5 SHAKOPEE SABERS (5-3, 4-3 MISSOTA CONFERENCE) VS. #4 EDINA HORNETS (4-4, 1-3 CLASSIC LAKE CONFERENCE): Kuhlman Stadium in Edina will be the home of a Section 6AAAAA quarterfinal match-up, as the #4-seeded Shakopee Sabers and the #5-seeded Edina Hornets will meet on the gridiron on Tuesday night. The Sabers are looking to continue a string of their most consistent football this season, as they come into this game having won four of their last five games, including a 49-13 victory over Holy Angels last Tuesday night. During that stretch of games, the Sabers have been solid offensively, scoring an average of 33 points per game. Meanwhile the Hornets come into the section playoffs following a 35-8 loss at the hands of the Rosemount Irish on Wednesday evening, following wins in their two previous games. These two teams last met in the first round of the 2007 section 6AAAAa tournament, with Edina defeating Shakopee by a final score of 38-7. Scott Dahl will have the call of Tuesday’s game on MSBN, with Steve Pesek providing the color commentary. Kickoff for this game is slated for 7:00 pm, with pregame beginning at approximately 6:30 pm.

MSBN CHANNEL 7 – SECTION 4AAAAA QUATERFINAL: #6 MINNEAPOLIS SOUTH TIGERS (3-5, 3-3 MINNEAPOLIS CITY CONFERENCE) VS. #3 WOODBURY ROYALS(5-3, 5-3 SUBURBAN EAST CONFERENCE): Two teams coming off losses will face off in the first round of the Section 4AAAAA playoffs, as the #6-seeded Minneapolis South Tigers head to Woodbury to face the #3-seeded Woodbury Royals. The Tigers come into Tuesday’s quarterfinal match-up having lost two games in a row and four of their previous five, including a 16-0 shutout loss to St. PaulComoPark in their most recent game. Meanwhile, the Woodbury Royals also head into the playoffs following a loss, as they fell to the Cretin-Derham Hall Raiders in their final regular season game by a score of 25-7. These two teams met during the 2007 football playoffs, with Woodbury defeating Minneapolis South in that contest by a final score of 31-0. Justin Schmitt and Jon Wekkin will call the action of this game for MSBN. Kickoff is slated for 7:00 pm, with pregame set for approximately 6:30 pm.

MSBN CHANNEL 8 – SECTION 8AAAAA QUATERFINAL: #5 ST. CLOUD TECH TIGERS (3-5, 2-4 CENTRAL LAKES CONFERENCE) VS. #4 MOORHEAD SPUDS (3-5, INDEPENDENT): Two teams that are very familiar with each other will meet on the Gridiron at Jim Gotta Stadium in Moorhead, as the St. Cloud Tech Tigers will face the Moorhead Spuds for the second straight week. These two teams met just last week with the #4 seed and home field advantage for the first round on the line in St. Cloud, with Moorhead edging out St. Cloud Tech in overtime 20-19 to secure the home playoff game. St. Cloud Tech has lost three out of their last four games overall, with their lone win coming against inter-city rival St. Cloud Apollo, 45-24 in Week Seven. Meanwhile, Moorhead has won two of their last three games after starting the season with a 1-4 mark, including the one-point victory over the Tigers. Larry Knutson will call the action for this game, assisted by Corey Delorme. Kickoff for this game is slated for 7:00 pm.
