No offense to the team, but even I think that winning the Big Ten is a little out in left field (and I'm as big a homer for the Gophers as you can imagine).

Also, the reasoning he offers up for his picks are quite weak.

I don't think any of us really know enough to know if it is reasonable or not. I think 3rd-5th is a more likely finish but the league is wide open because I don't think MSU or Purdue is near as good as anyone thought they would be. Wisconsin looks like they will be lucky to finish in the top 4. Ohio State would have turned in to a trendy pick if not for the Lighty injury that will keep him out until late January.

Let's get through the first two Big Ten games and then evaluate how crazy the prediction might be.
