Despite some setbacks on the field this season, the program and its infrastructure, both material and human, have
been on the upswing. If you keep this staff in place, I believe that upswing will continue. Jerry trained these guys well.
Whatever they accomplish from here on out, and I believe over the years they will accomplish a lot, will have Jerry's
fingerprints all over it. He'll be a part of it. I hope he stays with the U in some capacity that works well for him.
Claeys is a solid football guy. There have been some comparisons to Gutekunst, but Claeys is not Gutey. Gutey was a
fine coach, and did some nice things, but Claeys is more hard-nosed and will ask more from the players and coaches.
He'll drive this thing just as hard as Jerry would.
