GopherSports has a poll on which Gopher team was the best in the 1990's. The option for Gopher basketball is the 1992-93 team, with this resume:
  • 22-10 overall
  • 9-9 – 5th in Big Ten
  • Went 5-0 to win NIT
I think I'll cast a write in vote for this team:

Go Gophers!!

I second that, Bleed.

But if they insist on going the politically correct route (excluding "*" teams), the vote has to go to the 1989-90 Elite 8 team, doesn't it? "For basketball the "team of a decade" should go by when a season ended ('90), not when it started ('89).

I'd say either the 94/95 or 95/96 mens hockey with two of my all time favorite players Brian Bonin and Mike Crowley, who played probably a decade too early as the game at that time did not favor a small player like it does now.
