The University of Minnesota men’s hockey program, in conjunction with the Big Ten Conference, has announced the 2013-14 television schedule with 31 of 36 Gopher games currently slated for broadcast.

The first season of Big Ten hockey action will see the FOX Sports North network televise 19 Gophers games this season while the Big Ten Network will increase its coverage of the program to nine games in 2013-14. The ESPN Network will also pick up three Minnesota games for this season while the television rights to Minnesota’s nonconference series at Notre Dame belong to Hockey East and will be publicized when that information becomes available.

Among the notable broadcasts for the season are the Hockey City Classic at TCF Bank Stadium on Jan. 17 (Big Ten Network), the annual Hockey Day Minnesota event on Jan. 18 with Minnesota playing Ohio State (FOX Sports North), the inaugural North Star College Cup on Jan. 24-25 (FOX Sports North) and Minnesota’s first-ever Big Ten conference game against Wisconsin on Nov. 29 (ESPNU). The Big Ten Network will also broadcast the entirety of the first-ever Big Ten Tournament at Xcel Energy Center on March 20-22.

Additionally, the Big Ten officially scheduled three conference series that had previously been listed as Thursday-Friday-Saturday to-be-determined games. The Gophers will host Michigan State on Jan. 31-Feb. 1 and will host Michigan on Feb. 14-15. Minnesota’s road series at Wisconsin has been locked in for Feb. 6-7.

Schedule subject to change. Remaining schedule details will be made public as they become available.
