Gary Wilson Lundberg

Age 62, of Eden Prairie, left us suddenly and unexpectedly on August 18, 2011. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roland K. and Doris M. Lundberg. Gary is survived by his beloved family including his wife, Diane; daughter, Kelly (Adam) Schwebach; son, Jeffrey Lundberg; granddaughters, Brooke Schwebach; siblings, Rosemary (John) Thiel, Annette (Mark) Felts and Steven (Frances) Lundberg; nieces and nephews, Steven, Deborah, Annie, Erin, Katie, Ali, Bradley, Erin, Doug, John, and Nicole; as well as a large number of friends.

Gary, born July 22, 1949 in Minneapolis, graduated from Southwest High School in 1967. Following high school Gary attended the University of Minnesota, from where he received a degree in education in 1971 and developed a lifelong love of Gopher sports. Gary was confirmed at Mount Olivet Lutheran Church in 1961, where he was active for many years. Gary served his country in the Minnesota National Guard FTP 1971-1977. He was a national account executive at Shared Technologies/Cross Telecom of Bloomington, MN, and prior to that with Verizon Corporation from which he retired in 2009. He achieved numerous recognitions for his outstanding abilities as a sales and account manager.

Gary was an avid downhill skier and golfer, a great supporter of anything Gopher, and was a loyal fan of the Twins. Gary was active in the Gopher football Goal Line Club. He was a leader and had a passion for coaching Eden Prairie youth soccer for many years. Above all, Gary treasured his family and particularly the time spent raising his beloved children Kelly and Jeff, with their mother Diane in Eden Prairie. Funeral services Wednesday, 12:00 noon with visitation one hour prior at Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church, 5025 Knox Ave. S., Mpls.
