"I think from our perspective, I think it is exciting. I think from the players' perspective, the newness and freshness of a new league, it adds that added excitement," said Minnesota head coach Don Lucia. "I think there is a little trepidation with some of the fans at times, but I do believe that they're going to see we're going to have at Minnesota the best of both worlds. We're part of the Big Ten."

Go Gophers!!

The one recurring theme at the media event was that all of the exposure that the B1G Network will bring, should help college hockey overall. And they believe that the added exposure will help in recruiting players in the U.S., Canada & Europe. At the same time, behind the scenes some members of the media were discussing concerns regarding the survival prospects of some of the smaller schools like Bemidji State, Alaska-Anchorage and Michigan Tech.
