.....we attempted more than 40 passes in a game.
44 attempts by Athan against Nebraska marks the highest total in any of Fleck's years with the Gophers. We have surpassed 30 a few times and had 39 attempts in the 2019 game with Iowa.
You have to go all the way back to the 2016 game with Penn State to find another time where we had 40+ passing attempts in a game.
So for those wondering if Fleck would give his QB a chance to throw....I think yesterday was a good indication that times are changing here with Athan under center. I mean after the last few years how crazy is it to leave a game thinking we need to find a way to run the ball more....
