With 39 seconds left 2nd down, ND trailing by 4 and no times out left tries a run up the middle and is stopped on the 3. Purdue calls a time out! Gives ND time to set up and they score on 4th and goal. Incredible dumb call.

Hate to say it - but this was way worse than the Bulemia timeout last year versus Michigan St. ND would have had to hurry to run the next play just to snap it with about 20 sec left - if not spike it and go to 4th down.
I'm all for using TO so your offense can have a chance to still have time to go down the field to win the game - but in this situation it was just plain dumb given the time remaining and the fact that the clock was still moving.
If the argument Hope makes is that he used the TO to get his defense set, that makes no sense either. He could have waited until ND was about to snap it and then called the TO.
And people here complain about clock management of Mason and Brewster.....
