The Class 5A semifinals will be held today, which is unfortunate for high school/Gopher fans who will have a decision to mark. Two five seeds and one six seed won Tuesday. Gopher commits Devon Crawford-Tufts and Mike Rallis from Edina saw their season end with a 39-0 loss to Minnetonka.

I would be checking out that Tartan/Stillwater game if I wasn't heading out to the Gophers game. Should be a good one.

How do you have a #1 seed with a loss (Eden Prairie) and a undefeated #2 seed (Shakopee) in Section 6?

probably because the #2 seed has played smaller schools that are in lower classes. (AAAA and AAA schools) Take a look at the Holy Family and Providence game today. 2 undefeated schools playing as the #1 and #4 seeds in their section.

My Hill-Murray team took out #1 seed St. Paul Central in Section 4AAAA for the second year in a row (if my memory serves me right) 22-14 today. HM has about a 2% chance against Mahtomedi to go to state, but still a win they can be proud of.
