Tyler Irvin, a 6-foo-t4, 205-pound quarterback from Dassel-Cokato (MN) High, will admit to being a Minnesota Gopher football fan. However, the senior signal caller is hoping his playing ability can get him an opportunity to be a future Gopher player.

Irvin, who has lead the Chargers to a 4-1 start this season, has attended the past two Minnesota Gopher home games. Irvin has completed 44 of 71 passes for 551 yards and six touchdowns through five games. They defeated Litchfield 33-8 last week after losing their first game of the season to Delano 21-14 in overtime after the team had scored a potential-tying touchdown, only to have it called back due to a holding penalty.

Irvin proudly showed off a Minnesota hat that was filled with Gopher autographs. GopherHole.com caught up with Irvin to learn the latest on his recruitment.

I'll take my chances on a good QB who wrestles as a solid candidate to play safety. Esp with his size.
