Can anyone tell me where these players are?

For that matter, could Michael Carter POSSIBLY be bad enough not to play in this secondary?

The Gophers have rarely had a strong secondary, but this is by far the worst I've ever seen. I just yelled at the TV last night when Brock Vereen simply puppy-dog followed his receiver last night on a 5-yard out pattern on 3rd down with the game on the line, and with the ball whizzing right past his right shoulder, never even knew the ball was coming; then followed it up by a missed tackle, allowing a huge (~35 yards?) gain on a simple out pattern.

That's an example of the combination of bad coaching and lack of talent - the lack of talent to know the difference, and the lack of coaching to teach him better.

Except on deep patterns, and long, broken plays, the secondary should not be running around with their back away from the ball.

Sure. Not to be snarky, but there's this thing called Google and you can find out all kinds of things with it.

In shorthand:

Rex Sharpe, David Pittman, Cedric McKinley, Traye Simmons, Simoni Lawrence--All JC transfers who have completed their eligibility. Tremaine Brock transferred after his junior season (to Bellhaven College due to academic issues). Brock is a member of the San Francisco 49ers. McKinley and Simmons are on the Minnesota Vikings' and San Diego Chargers' practice squads respectively. Lawrence was in camp with the Buccaneers this past training camp.

Vince Hill, Roszell Gayden had academic problems and never enrolled. Hill committed to Temple, but I don't know if he ever saw the field. Gayden played for the College of the Sequoias (California JC) and then went to Auburn, but his career was derailed by injuries.

Here are the transfers:

Brodrick Smith--To Kansas State. Started as a sophomore for K-State in 2010, but was injured. Caught 14 passes in 5 games. Has played in all three games this year and has caught five passes.

Terrell Combs--To Kentucky. Currently not listed on Kentucky roster.

Tim Dandridge--To Jackson State after being dismissed from the team. Not on Jackson State 2011 roster, but may have no remaining eligibility.

DeLeon Eskridge--To San Jose State. Currently sitting out. Will be eligible in 2012.

Sam Maresh--To Iowa Western Community College. Currently on roster.

Kevin Whaley--Dismissed from team and internet search doesn't indicate where he may be playing.

John Nance--Playing basketball at St. Thomas. Not playing football.

Others:

Xzavian Brandon--Injured.

Jewhan Edwards--Dismissed from team.

Gayden actually became a 4 star recruit out of JC and is currently starting for Winona State and playing quite well.
