Bruce Weber on Ben Johnson: “I really like Ben. He’s a great person. He cares about the players, but, as we all know, you have to win games.”

You can be the nicest guy in the world... Just gotta produce.... And welp so far Ben hasn't.... Just the rules of the game
"But that's not how its supposed to go! He checked off the right DEI boxes and Community boxes on the litmus test!"

Doogie comment and now this guy? What’s goin on?
What did Doogie say?

This Weber comment is kind of brutal for Ben. Coaches always stand up for other guys in the profession and Weber decided to talk about him as a person as opposed to him as a basketball coach.

The part about a "brand" is enlightening. Ben doesn't seem to know what he wants his teams to be known for. Trying to be able to play all styles seems to be more reactionary and letting the other team/coach dictate the game. It is also kind of unrealistic to be able to play all styles. As we see in the NCAA tournament every year, sometimes teams just run in to a bad matchup for their style...and these are teams that won close to 25 games.
