Fisch and Brewster both tried to be secret squirrel today and be smarter than the average bear. That's why they should tug of war for the golden hunks. Two of the largest turd calls of the year in one game that had a huge impact on the outcome of the football game. Fisch going back to the naked bootleg call at 2nd and goal(like Wisconsin game) from the 1/2 yard line and he naked boots to the side where the defense has two overloaded to that side for an eight yard loss. QB should have checked out seeing two to that side at the line but that call should just not have been made in that game situation. They were not stopping Hoese that was painfully obvious yet they go to a naked boot with a QB misfiring the whole first half. Brewster should have vetoed the play call on game situation and field position alone.

Second worst call of the year, Brewster calls a time-out with Illinois at 3rd and 8 from the Gopher 39 with 2:00 minutes left in the first half. What is the thought process for calling that timeout when you have watched your OC call 12 yard outs to the boundary all day with passes sailing into the ground and out of bounds. Game situation and mismanagement by the head coach there. Defense has not shown this game that they are stopping the oppostion on 3rd down and yet you call a time out trying to show faith in the O and the D for a stop. I can see calling the timeout on fourth down most coaches would have done that, once you know you have secured the stop but by calling that timeout all you did was help Illinois sustain a drive and have enough time to score a TD instead of forcing a field goal. As poorly as the Gophers played and came out flat, the coaches coached themselves to a loss today. Traye Simmons should abdicate BPT as a nickname or title, it is no longer valid or should be applied. Good luck trying to get to the NFL Mr .Simmons your going to need it, they actually require tackling in order to make it there.

Right ON

What was the story on the time-out...did I miss something. My thought is that Brewster is Jim Wacker with better athletes...

The timeout that was after a tv timeout in the 2nd half was the most confusing one. Really, really bad coaching when that happens.
