Bracket Buster Pairings Announced Monday

Here's an educated guess at the 11 (televised) Bracket Buster pairings that will be announced Monday. Games will be played Feb. 19 and 20.

The first three games certainly would have significant tournament implications, as all those teams are solidly in the hunt for at-large bids (in the event they don't win their conference tournament). Let's see if I can get any of the 11 matchups correct. Current RPI is listed in parentheses.

1. Siena (31) at Butler (26)
2. Old Dominion (42) at Northern Iowa (20)
3. Wichita State (49) at VCU (57)
4. William & Mary (51) at Utah State (63)
5. Louisiana Tech (55) at Northeastern (66)
6. Charleston (94) at Kent State (70)
7. Western Carolina (72) at Murray State (83)
8. Morehead State (118) at Iona (84)
9. New Mexico State (106) at Pacific (90)
10. Morgan State (129) at George Mason (103)
11. Akron (114) at Green Bay (108)

It's too bad Cornell, Harvard and St. Mary's aren't part of this year's Bracket Busters. They all could benefit from the opportunity to pick up a quality win this late in the season.

Regardless of who they play - we should all be cheering for (in order) 1) Butler, 2) Northern Iowa, and 3) Siena. Those schools appear to be near locks for the dance (regardless of conference tourney outcome) barring some sort of ridiculous collapse.
