On Air Force Game interesting comment on the portal. If an Air Force player leaves via the portal they have to repay the Academy all the money that was invested in their education. That ladies and gentlemen is a sure fire way to limit participation in the mess we call the portal. If it’s good enough(and legal) in a government school, should be legal for all other universities.

This has come up here before and no, it really doesn't apply.

"College students at the academies – usually called cadets or midshipmen – don't pay tuition, but in exchange for their government-subsidized education, they typically promise to complete a minimum of five years of work in the national interest after they graduate."

Key “after they graduate”. These comments were directed at players who leave before graduation via the portal. They have to fulfill a financial obligation before being released.. same could be applied at the U. After all their scholarship has $ attached. Plus they selfishly kept some one else of receiving that Grant.

It’s not applicable to regular students. This is meant with no offense to you but most of these scenarios on how to fix college football are pure function.

At the Academys, a cadet has until the start of his or her junior year to make the final decision on staying or leaving. If one leaves prior to starting their junior year no pay back for education. If a junior or senior leaves then they have to pay it back, usually done by enlisting for three years and working it off that way. The cash price is very high for the education at an academy.
