BIG TEN MEDAL OF HONOR 100TH ANNIVERSARY SPOTLIGHT – Michigan State’s Shawn Horcoff: Before embarking on a career in the National Hockey League that now includes more than 800 games played, Michigan State forward Shawn Horcoff was a model student-athlete in East Lansing. He was awarded the Big Ten Medal of Honor in 2000, the same year that he was named a first-team All-America selection. Horcoff, who was also a three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree, currently plays for the Dallas Stars and needs just one point to reach the 450-point plateau for his career.

Where We Rank: Minnesota claimed the top spot in the latest USCHO.com and USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine polls, released on Monday. Thanks to a 4-0-0 start, the Gophers are ranked No. 1 in both polls for the first time since Feb. 4, 2013. Minnesota is joined in both polls by Michigan (No. 4/4) and Wisconsin (No. 11/11) while Ohio State is receiving votes in the USCHO.com poll …
