He's probably a 6'7" 160 lb gangly unathletic white guy if he got an offer from Wisky...
I saw him play once, and unathletic is not a word I'd use to describe Heide. Good hops and a pretty good passer, with a nice inside/outside game.

I'm just curious what others who've seen him play a lot more than I have think about him as a Big Ten prospect.

Far from it. Probably the most athletic kid in Minnesota's 2022 class. I thought he was the best player on Wayzata this year. Good size and solid handle for SG/SF. Playing up on D1 MN 16s. I expect alot of HM interest over the next few years. Top 2 or 3 frosh in state.

He isn't more athletic than Aligbe. Or Holloman. Not saying he isn't athletic but he isn't as athletic as either of them.

Really great feel for the court, works on all the right things. That recruitment will really heat up unless he already knows where he wants to go.

Just from looking at an online video. 6-5 wing, about 175 now, could be 190 by the time he graduates. Good athlete and shooter. Does everything the right way. Figures Wisconsin is the first to offer.

Pitino visiting Heide today at Wayzata HS

Little birdie tells me Heide is wearing a University of Minnesota sweatshirt for the visit.

Heide will get his Gopher offer today!

Maybe he could find out what Demir is thinking for us?

It's time for another All Things thread. Bring it on!

Hodger, you usually don't pay close attention to recruiting. Do you have some in with this young man? Relative or something?
You are a perceptive guy, Holy Man!

One of my nephews is a classmate of Heide's. Nephew played baseball with him in youth leagues until he (Cam) started focusing on hoops. Saw him play quite a bit of baseball when he was younger. Athletic ability won't be an issue.

Going to garner a bunch of really high offers unless he commits early.

Cam is arguably the best player in this class of 2022. He's explosive and a top level dunker in addition to his shooting ability from well beyond the arc. These last two offers are the first of many for this kid. Really growing into his body and his defensive abilities have come with that. Going to be fun to watch him over the next couple years.

Evan Daniels: 2022 Intro: Camden Heide emerges as high major prospect

One of the breakout underclassmen prospects of the first evaluation was 2022 guard Camden Heide. Playing in the 16’s division for D1 Minnesota, Heide looked like a future high major college basketball player.

“It’s been great,” Heide said of the spring. “I love playing up because it gets me like more ready and stuff and I love playing up against better competition.”

During the spring Evaluation Period, Heide told 247Sports that he’d yet to pick up a scholarship offer, but that changed quickly.

“Last week Wisconsin offered me on Tuesday, and Minnesota offered me on Thursday,” Heide said.

To go with those offers, Purdue dropped by to watch him workout recently. He also cited interest from Iowa, Iowa State and Nebraska.

“It’s going pretty good,” Heide said about the process. “I haven’t really worried about it much because I’m still so young so I got to enjoy it but still keep working.”

On the court, Heide impressed with his skill set and potential as a scorer. Heide is a confident shooter with range, but also capable of getting to mid-range and pull-up. He was aggressive in our viewing, but picked his spots and made the right play.
