Adam Rittenberg: What we learned in the Big Ten: Week 5

We learned Brewster is as good as gone & Gray will not be playing QB this year at all...let alone WR again...

Re: (Gray) let alone WR again...

That was stupid.

We didn't learn anything.

1) Michigan State looked legit last year. They can beat anyone. There trouble is consistency. We don't know how they'll respond to a top 15 ranking, so we still don't know anything.
2) Every team can beat every team in conference play. They know each other so well. Ohio State is beatable for every team in the conference if OSU didn't show up.
3) Everyone knew Michigan had no D, most people who know anything will be shocked if they win 9 games. Northwestern wasn't seen as a contender for a Big Ten title by anyone. If they want to win the conference, they have to change the part of the formula that has to do with talent.
4) Penn State has been mediocre for a while now. Or at best above average. They beat the teams they should beat, they have no chance in big games. They don't have the offensive talent to score against quality defenses. Wisconsin has the 4th longest time since their last Big Ten title. BB hasn't won one. Only two coaches since 1970 have won a Big Ten title if they didn't get it done their first 4 years.
5) Iowa might have the best D in the conference. Yea, they might. Them or Ohio State. Thanks captain obvious.

So basically rittenberg didn't know as much as 90% of Big Ten fans if he didn't learn this stuff till this week.
