Jabari Parker, a 6-foot-6, 220-pound freshman from Chicago (IL) Simeon, has attracted the attention of Minnesota, who recently offered him a scholarship. Gopher assistant coach Vince Taylor watched Parker Monday against Morgan Park. Parker, whose father Sonny, played at Texas A&M and was a 1976 NBA first round picks by the Golden State Warriors.

Jabari Parker became the first freshman to ever become a starter for Chicago Simeon, the alma mater of Derrick Rose. He has already received scholarship offers from schools such as Oregon State, Washington, Northern Iowa, Illinois, DePaul, Northwestern, Baylor, Kansas and Brigham Young.

Didn't I remember reading a while back (months ago) that Tubby was one of the coaches AGAINST offering kids before they were finished with their sophomore year? I wouldn't mind it, except from what I've read, he's taken an ethical stance against it and then gone out and done it anyway. I guess you gotta do what you gotta do!
