Reggie's current list includes TCU (has for a while), Marquette and Minnesota. 6'9", 230 pound late bloomer who didn't even start as a junior. Plays for Westchester (CA), a very good team that includes Dwayne Polee and Jordin Mayes, as well as other D1 talent.

I like Murphy as an option to join Minnesota during the late signing period. Some would still say he is more of a mid major guy, but his game is going to continue to develop and he may wind up being quite a nice late signing for someone. Don't know exactly how good he can be yet, but there's a lot of promise here.

Murphy goes for 14 and 14 last night (3/20/10) as the Westchester Comets beat Mater Dei 71-63 in the Southern Cal Division 1 Regional Final. Westchester's Dwayne Polee had 20 and 10, and Jordin Mayes added 21. The Comets led by 20 in the third, but the lead was chipped away to as little as 1 in the fourth quarter before Polee and Mayes took care of business.

Westchester next plays Newark Memorial in the Cali State Championship this coming Saturday. I would not mind seeing Reggie playing in Minneapolis or Milwaukee next season. Not sure on the live feed situation for that game yet, but something will likely be available.

BTW - Arrowhead beat Madison Memorial last night at the Kohl Hole 72-51 in the Wisconsin D1 Championship game. Things were going OK for Memorial in the first half (31-23 lead), but Arrowhead absolutely destroyed Memorial in the second half, 49-20... everything falling for them, nothing for MM. Ben Mills was 8/9 from the field.. 18 points, 10 boards... 60 and 30 for the full tournament. We'll see if he seeks a release from his Boise State commitment and again has Gophers interest... there are a number of programs that would like to grab him at this point.

When is the late signing period?

The "regular"/Spring NLI signing period is April 14 to May 19 this year. Of course, the NLI is voluntary so it is certainly possible to have a commit after May 19, but not customary.

Tonight Westchester takes on Newark Memorial in Bakersfield for the state championship. Westchester should win this one. A link to the video (game should start at approximately 10pm central tonight (3/27/10) is provided below. Obviously an interest for Gophers fans may be the man in the middle for Westchester, Reggie Murphy. Also keep an eye on Jordin Mayes (Arizona) and Kareem Jamar (Montana), but especially 6'7" Dwayne Polee Jr., who can fly... fun guy to watch. Polee is currently uncommitted (not inferring he's an option for the Gophers - he's not)... he had originally committed to USC when he was all of 14 years old.

Fox Sports West Live Video

Also on TV for some, see Rex's post below for DirectTV.. also on some Fox Sports feeds available on other packages.. including Comcast in Minneapolis if you've got a certain premium option... Newark Memorial got it close at the end of the first quarter (13-11 Westchester), but I don't see this one going any other way than a repeat championship by Westchester. Montana is getting a nice little player in Jamar. Reggie with 2 early fouls, back on the court mid-way into the 2nd.

Murphy in foul trouble all game long, stuffed the stat sheet with a late technical with his team up double digits and a minute left to play... (fits in perfectly?)

Kareem Jamar scored 16 points, Denzel Douglas 12 and Jordin Mayes 11... Westchester rolls 63-56.. Polee had a couple of gems.

Less than 5,000 for the Cali state tourney.. Indiana had over 18,000 today.
