Vintage Memorial Stadium. The Gophers win 35 to 31. Beautiful.

Love it! I was there
(Unfortunately to date that is the last time the Gophers defeated OSU in Minneapolis. It was also the last Gopher win at Memorial Stadium as they moved to the dome the next year.)

My dad and I picked up scalped tickets to that 1981 game. We were fooled into the tickets being mid field and ended up on the goal line but that turned out great because we had a great view of Carrol’s winning catch. I didn’t realize it was the last win at Memorial. Gophers lost a close one to end the season against Wisconsin. It had snowed a bunch the night before the Wisconsin game. I remember the student section threw snowballs at a badger fan who had a mounted badger.

I remember Jay slipping on the concrete after the first score and thinking he was injured. Not only was he not, he caught two more td's.

I was in an endzone seat my Jr. year of high school. Hohensee to Jay Carroll...never forget it.

I can tell looking at the end zones all bare and uneven grass everywhere they didn’t maintain it much
