Maurice Washington removed from Husker football depth chart

Sounds like someone destined for prison, tbh.

Probably had to kill somebody for Frost to take that kind of action, right?

Still on the team though.

Every time he touched the ball it reminded me that Nebraska should be ashamed to have a guy like that in uniform, and the depths they will go to improve their chances at winning football games.

Aren't they slight underdogs at home... to Indiana?

Seems like a real ***hole of a person even if the felony charges always seemed a little trumped up.

Probably. Frost was there when Lawrence Phillips beat his girlfriend at Frost's apartment. Word has it Frost did not get involved.

#Huskers head coach Scott Frost on sophomore RB Maurice Washington’s absence from the depth chart:
“Not a part of our plans in the immediate future, the farther out future we’ll have to determine… Not a part of the team right now." 1/2 @Channel8ABC

2/2 Frost continued on #Huskers RB Maurice Washington:
“They’re certain standards we ask our players to uphold. Certain things are non negotiable.” Adds this is not related to his California court case and that he hasn’t practiced since the Minnesota game. @Channel8ABC

They have standards. But child porn isn't a violation of those standards.

So its worse than the child porn case that Frost overlooked. Interesting...

I’m going to guess there are a whole lot of 18-22 year old guys (and probably gals) that are technically carrying child porn of their current and former exes on their phones. I don’t think what Washington is (probably) guilty of regarding his ex is typically what springs to mind when we hear about charges for child porn. Yeah he seems like a selfish jacka** and probably should be guilty of something or other but words matter

Not a part of his California court case? Yeah right.

Agreed.

I'm sure you are right. But what you don't do is end a relationship with them and then start distributing said pictures/videos. They made a whole new statute for it in MN for adults...

Not a part of his California court case? Yeah right.

They played him, got him a lawyer with the case pending.

Rumor has it Washington has been missing meetings and etc, they held him out of a half a game earlier this year for such things and ... he keeps missing meetings (rumored failed drug test).

Frost hasn't been under any local media pressure.

I think this really (sadly) might be unrelated to the court case.

Prior to the Minnesota game, there was this odd quote from Washington's coach in the Daily Nebraskan:

According to running backs coach Ryan Held, he set a goal for sophomore running back Maurice Washington to play four quarters sooner rather than later. Apart from the Colorado matchup, Washington hasn’t collected more than 10 touches all year, something which could change this week.

“I’m challenging him this week to have a great week of practice, and up to this point he’s done a really good job,” Held said. “I’m going to be on him to be a champion on Saturday… I might take a beer bottle and smash it over my head, whatever it takes to get him ready.”

I mean - what? Smash a beer bottle over his [coach] head? That's strange wording.

Yes, but he sent it to her not to anyone else (that I’m aware of). That’s seemingly important. I’m not sure what happened with the guy that actually filmed the encounter and distributed it to the high school student body.

The child porn thing carries a very negative connotation (rightfully so) but in this case I think it was more his actions after the initial incident (including not deleting this and sending it to her) that make me think he is an ass hat. Agreed that A LOT of people ages 14-24 (just a range I chose) probably have these types of things on their phones/snapchats/etc but this isn't the same as what you see on the front page of a newspaper.

I'm thankful we have PJ as our head coach.

If I'm not mistaken, Frost was balling LP's old lady is how the whole thing went down. My memory is pretty fuzzy?

The attack on LPs girlfriend took place when he broke into Scott's room by scaling a building to the third floor. There were Scott and LPs girlfriend.

Makes you wonder but I never heard anything solid about why everyone was there. Could be bad, could just be friends.

LP was a messed up dude so I wouldn't assume much just on his reaction.

The court description of that assault described the rage and violent tendencies Lawrence Phillips had. I did not remember that Frost was present during the assault. I wonder what he learned ?

The documentary on the whole thing was really sad. And how he died in prison. There was some question to how that all happened. But the guy was troubled from the beginning. Sad story all around.

There were plenty of red flags from his high school days. He transferred from California to Texas, where Deion Sanders was his O Coordinator. He eventually got expelled from that school, and had to move back to California to complete high school. Nebraska thought he might not be academically eligible, but they somehow got him into the program. Yikes.

Claeys took heat for playing Kiante Hardin and the boys in 2016, but he at least suspended them for a couple games first. Shouldn't Frost get some heat for playing Washington?

You'd think so but the Nebraska media doesn't seem to give a damn.

Now if Scott can't win more football games maybe they'll get on him after that...
