[TICKETS REMAINING TRACKING THREAD] - How many seats are unsold vs MD, PSU and WIS?

Playing in B1G in hockey is not going to change. I for one, think it’s good - long term possibly very good. You’re either in a conference - or you’re not. We’re not NDSU for chrissakes.

Totally agree. Hard to believe that long term wcha type schools will be able to recruit as well as the Big Ten programs. Hmm Grand Forks or Ann Arbor, Madison or Minneapolis and the better academics that come along with it?

per Megan:

A team spokesman said the athletics department does not give out ticket sales numbers unless the game has sold out, since ticket sales totals change constantly. Tickets are still available, though "things are moving in the right direction," the spokesman said in a statement.

The Gophers drew 44,715 fans to the 52-10 win against Maryland this past weekend. The Gophers are currently on a bye week.

Go Gophers!!

That is fantastic. See you there right?! The radiant heat from the heating Coyles might just make it up there but dress for cold weather anyway so you can last the entire game.

Hand warmers from Kwik Trip should be high on everyone's list.

Most Definitely! Gonna look like a maroon Michelin man (j/k). we'll all be toasty, we have special fanny packs filled with warmth.

I think that will bounce back over time. People were pretty bitter about it, but I think the new crop of fans who never knew the old WCHA don't feel that way.

Hockey fans were upset about the move to the Big 10 and some may have stopped buying tickets because of it. But I think the bigger issue, as it relates to attendance, is that you don't have visiting fans trying to buy tickets at Mariucci anymore. UMD, St. Cloud, Mankato and even UND are all close and have alumni in the Twin Cities who would go to games. If you're a Gopher hockey fan, to be assured of getting into the games you wanted, you needed a season ticket. That's what prompted me to buy basketball season tickets in the 1990s, too. Now, with no visiting fans (not to mention lower caliber hockey and, yes, the loss of some rivalries), tickets are available whenever you want them. And you don't need to go to every game.

Season tickets are really important for attendance at U of M sports. The Penn State game is a prime example; selling 20,000 individual tickets to each game is no easy task, no matter how attractive the game.

Lobbied 8 people hard...even willing to put up the $$ and be the broker for one or two sets of Cub 4-packs...and couldn't get any to commit at $70 per seat.

Actually pretty disappointed because I engage on the Gophers year round with these folks.

No doubt cost a big part of it...just not sure where the price point is...but also a number had not been to TCF before (but had gone to games in the Dome era)...and just unable to make the jump even for this very significant event.

Brewster and the price gouge did a lot of damage. At least now we're getting to test the "just win baby" hypothesis if we can be a consistent player in the B1G West and even national stage for a few seasons.

They should move people who have already bought cheaper tickets, upgrade them to better sections, then have a flash sale to sell out the cheap seats.

I think another factor playing in to this is the weather outlook. If this game had a better weather outlook or was inside I believe you would have much more interest. Casual fans aren’t willing to shell out the big dollars AND sit out in the cold.

Their loss!! My dream before I die is to add the extra level on the north side of the stadium. Keep building this program and we will get there some day.

So 3,000 sold in last 5 days. Not bad. Again, the biggest push on game and event sales after the initial release is usually the last 3 days leading up to the event. Lots of people will wait to see about the weather and others don't commit to weekend plans until the weekend arrives.

I predict it will be down to 4,500 left by Wednesday - and then we will see where the final countdown takes us. I think it's going to be nip and tuck after walkups, but I bet if there are seats left unsold they will be the $200+ ones unfortunately

The cheap seats ($65) are almost gone.View attachment 6460

Wouldnt be surprised to see another section in that upper deck stident area opened up to the public for $65 on Monday.

EDIT: Looks like they are now selling seats in Section 222 for $65...was a student section earlier this week. I believe.

8-0 and playing the #5 team at home and cant sell 50K tickets...sad. I'll be there with Bells on cheering on the Maroon and Gold.

Some of your ideas don't land, but that one is gold, Jerry.

Yes I do, thanks. Maybe I have too much love for the squad, as I would expect the tickets to be a hotter item.

I feel you, but I'm saying there is no guarantee we won't have 50k there next Saturday. Far too early to call it.

What's the deal with 244? Seems like nobody's touching it

Weird how section 222 is now available now to but not 221

Minnesota sports fans have turned into total outdoor sports pu$$ies.

29 years in the dome might take 29 years, or maybe two whole generations to return to normal sports fans in other cities.

Well I for one think the stadium and atmosphere is great, and who gives a **** if its cold. Its gonna be a football party. I just wish it was a 7:30pm kick lol...

Something to realize as well is that it is a Minnesota Holiday this weekend with the Deer Hunting Opener. This 11:00 start is perfect for deer hunters. Get your morning sit in, come in, watch the game, back out to the stand at 2:30-3:00! Many, many hunters that would normally be interested in attending are not because of this scenario.

With that said, I am a big deer hunter, I have season tickets but do you think I would miss this one!!! [emoji23]

Heck NO! My daughter and I will be attending and enjoying the tunnel walk!! #RTB, Ski U Mah, Go Gophers!!!!

I bought my tickets from someone who picked deer hunting. I don’t think we’ll get as much a boost as hoped from hunters.
