per Kevin:

Minnesota hosted Nebraska Saturday night and the Golden Gophers, for the sixth time this season, took care of business.

The Golden Gophers won the game 34-7 and the game was never really in doubt. Minnesota completely controlled the line of scrimmage, out-rushing Nebraska 322-151.

After the game, Minnesota coach P.J. Fleck talked about his running backs and one thing in particular they did well in the 27-point victory, as well as defensive lineman Sam Renner and what he means to the team:

Go Gophers!!

Renner was awesome in this game. On TV they mentioned something about him possibly being a 4th or 5th round NFL draft pick? Fleck or someone on staff told them that when NFL scouts visit, Renner has been consistently catching their eye. Quite an amazing rise for a kid who really didn't get much playing time until his senior year. With Cashman and now Renner, Fleck has a lot to sell local recruits on as potential walk-ons in the future. Obviously, credit goes to Kill/Claeys for bringing those guys in to the program.

Especially how Cashman is getting major playing time and making some noise as a rookie.

The journey and growth of the team and winning in the process will sell the Gophers Football Developmental Program to the right set of recruits.

This goes for the scholarship and PWO players.

All those team bonding outings and charitable work are part of building cohesiveness, selflessness, and making men out of boys the right way.

I'm very pleased to hear PJ Fleck alluring that he is here for the long haul.
