Snoop dog making it rain and pole dancers. Not kidding.

The whole concept of the two or three leading shoe companies giving cash and perks to families to ensure their children attend a formerly reputable university to attend classes for one or two quarters before gong pro is sick.

Built Badger might be annoying at times, but at least UVA and UW are not playing that rotten game. I hope they give "the chair" to KU and coach hairpiece. I suspect one of the reasons Self left Illinois for KU is that he know he could buy players there with less scrutiny. I know that is a stretch since UI was a huge abuser of the "spirit" of hte NCAA over the years with cash payments and players with a 4th grade reading level being admitted, but .......

This is just disgusting! No class at all, stripper polls and shooting money out...?

Seems the opposite of where a Mom would want to send their kid to school. NCAA needs to do some hammer time on them.

Pathetic and gross. AD already came out and apologized and threw Snoop under the bus saying it was suppose to be a "clean" show. What a Joke

Wow, wonder if any 'cruits were seating in the section where they shot all the money?

Wow. Classy Uffda

It's brilliant, actually. With the apology, the AD plays both sides of the street: putting on an event that will make a difference in some of these recruitments and then officially coming off as virtuous.

If you have to do something shady, do it right out in the open so it doesn't seem bad. Seems to be a popular way to go these days.

Pat Forde: Bill Self, Kansas fall 'victim' to Snoop Dogg's 'acrobatic dancers' and money cannons

Shed a tear and say a prayer for Kansas, everyone. The school has been through so much.

Nobody has been victimized by unscrupulous characters, bad business dealings and overzealous investigators like the Jayhawks. Now, add rogue rappers to the list of perpetrators.

Did you see what that duplicitous Snoop Dogg did Friday night at “Late Night in the Phog” at historic Allen Fieldhouse? Did you see the way his road crew somehow snuck stripper poles past everyone and set them up on the court? Did you see how the scantily dressed women scaled them and swung around, legs spread wider than a Kansas wheat field? Did you see Mr. Dogg take a money cannon and fire fake $100 bills — featuring a picture of his face and marijuana leaves — around the place, including in the direction of the Kansas players?

Whoops, said Kansas athletic director Jeff Long.

"We made it clear to the entertainers' manager that we expected a clean version of the show and took additional steps to communicate to our fans, including moving the artist to the final act of the evening, to ensure that no basketball activities would be missed if anyone did not want to stay for his show,” Long said. “I take full responsibility for not understanding what acrobatic dancers are in today’s entertainment world and offer my apology to anyone who was offended. We strive to create a family atmosphere at Kansas and fell short of that this evening.”

“Acrobatic dancers” at a Snoop Dogg show. Poles set up on-court. Can’t believe this didn’t turn out to be the Bolshoi Ballet.

Hold a vigil for Golly-Gee Jeff Long, conned by the manager who scripted the soft-core porn show instead of the clean show.

HOW could Kansas have seen this coming? When it signed up Snoop — who has done prison time, but did beat a murder rap — as its entertainment for the annual “Late Night” event start to basketball season, who could have foreseen that this might not be an event approved by Disney, or the NCAA?

“I didn’t know there was going to be anything like that,” said coach Bill Self, the active college sports leader in I Didn’t Know statements.

What a load. Should be fired.

It just seems so phony. Bringing in Snoop and shooting fake money into the crowd. Trying too hard.

F*ck the blue bloods. Time for new blood.

We are off to a good start. 3 of the last 4 national champions are non blue bloods ! Problem is that K is now going after 3-4 year players that those schools are after to mix with his OAD players. Good news is he is done in 4 years. Right now UNC and Duke are knocking it out of the park on the mix and match.

Here is the #1 reason why KU brought in Snoop and why KU would do it again in spite of the backlash:

Kansas hosted multiple top-tier recruits that night. At least one of them, Javonte Brown-Ferguson (a 6-foot-11 center prospect in the 2021 class), said he had fun during the show.

"I loved my visit," he told the Kansas City Star. "The Snoop [Dogg] performance had the crowd going crazy. It was amazing."

A reporter asked Self about the incident. Self talked around the question and then said to the reporter, "How is that for answering your frickin' question." I really can't imagine our coach or many coaches responding with such arrogance, fortunately. KU coach seems to be appropriately named.

What an Azzhole.

Haha!

It's kinda funny if you think about it. They know they have done wrong and now they are rubbing it in the NCAA's face. Doesn't matter, most likely they won't get touched.

I didn't watch the full video of the dancers but here is the thing...I bring my kids to the circus every year and the high wire gals they have going at a family event are wearing more revealing clothing than those ladies were. I'm not saying that what they did was the right move, but I've seen way worse at family events with tons of children around.

But watching a high wire act is slightly more family friendly than a group of strippers....

Hard to agree when the high wire act gals are wearing thongs and those strippers were wearing shorts...The perv in me loves the circus...the dad in me hates it.
