I'd probably flip Northwestern and Illinois.....but otherwise I'd agree right now.

I think the west is basically.

Everyone tied for 1st .... and .... Illinois.

Now it might just be everyone tied for 1st....

I think Maryland would win the West, based on two weeks.

Purdue at 2 seems odd if you're basing it on the play thus far

Maybe. I think they are going to have a great year. Time will tell.

They've been a juggernaut so far but we'll see what happens. They've had a number of seasons in recent history where they've looked very powerful in the opening weeks but didn't end up with such great records.

As much as I hate to say it...Wisconsin is far and away the class of the West right now. Iowa is a clear second and it is still a crapshoot trying to put an order to the other five teams.

Maryland does that. They beat your by 40 or lay an egg and lose big. I remember they killed us like 3 years ago and then the next year just handed us the game. Did nothing right and kept turning it over. Maryland will lose 3 of 4 to Penn St, Mich St, Michigan and Ohio St.

Three through five are pretty much interchangeable but I give the Gophers the nod simply because of the 2-0 record even though I don't think the team has been really any more impressive than the other two

Right now, and I hate to admit it, Wi and Ia seem to be favorites

Illinois looks improved, I don't think they'll be the pushover we're all expecting

agreed, although I have hard time putting NW @ #6, they'll figure it out

Way too early to know. But what the heck:

1. WI although they haven’t played anyone. Still, two shutouts is impressive.
2. Iowa. They will be solid on D as always. Senior QB that’s pretty good. Shut out a Big Ten team.
3. Northwestern. Hard to say but giving benefit of doubt. Defense was solid against Stanford. Offense a huge question mark as 5 star Johnson looked REALLY sketchy in his debut.
4a. Purdue. Really fluky loss vs Nevada.
4b. Minnesota. Haven’t looked good overall and could very easily be 0-2. Found ways to win.
6. Nebraska. Underwhelming. Found a way to lose.
7. Illinois. Not convinced they’re back.

Yeah I think that's fair.

1) Wisconsin
2) Iowa
3-7) Rest of the division. One week a team could stink, then surprise the following week. It will be fun to watch this year. Question: will teams 3-7 beat Iowa or Wisconsin?? Not sure these teams can be outscored.

Iowa - my preseason favorite and haven’t done anything to change it
Wisconsin - most impressive looking
Minnesota - 2-0 against sneaky decent opponents
Illinois - 2-0 but UConn concerns me
Purdue - lost to a top 4 mountain west team and beat a bottom 4 SEC team.
Nebraska - looked mediocre week 1. Lost to a mediocre team week 2
Northwestern - lost to an overrated Stanford team and haven’t won a game yet.

With only two weeks of games under our belts, this seems correct to me.
