No Thursday night games this week.

We start Friday with:
Wake Forest vs Rice on CBSSN. Your chance to watch Eden Prairie's own Antonio Montero who was at one point a Gopher walk-on commit who opted for Rice.

Saturday:

11:00 AM starts
Ohio St vs a tough Cincy squad. This has upset potential.
Army - Michigan - zzzzz
#21 Syracuse vs Maryland. If you root for conference strength, this would be a good time to pull for Maryland. Maryland has had strong non-conference games before beating Texas the last two years. See if they continue.
Vanderbilt vs Purdue - This is Purdue's best chance for a win before playing the Gophers

Conference game:
Iowa and Rutgers renew their long standing rivalry

2:30
Clemson vs Texas A&M - Biggest game of the weekend. Clemson favored by 17.5
Central Michigan vs Wisconsin.. zzzzzzz
#25 Nebraska at Colorado - First real test for the Corn Huskers
Illinois at Uconn - Does Illinois start 2-0 with back to back big victories?

Furman plays future Gopher opponent Georgia State
or
Maine at Georgia Southern
Not sure which

6:00 PM
BYU at Tennessee
It's fun watching Tennessee lose. (similar to Nebraska)

6:30 PM
LSU vs Texas
Texas will lose

9:30 PM
Stanford vs USC

I wouldn't be at all surprised if Colorado upsets Nebraska. Colorado has had some decent teams and Nebraska is a lot of hype. We'll see if the Child Porn running back makes the difference for the huskers.

VegasInsider has Wisconsin -35.

A spread that large always intrigues me. If the game gets that out of hand, the Wisconsin second and third stringers will go in the game. Central Michigan will probably try like crazy to put up a score or two. All of those factors might impact the final score, and hence any bets that are placed.

Also, you can say what you will about the Sconnies, but Chryst never seems to run up the score when he has a chance. In P.J.'s first season they could have named the score against us, and Chryst appeared (to me, at least) to call off the dogs.

Outside of Gopher games, not many I'm super excited about.

I think Wisconsin is going to be better this year than some want to give credit for

Next year without Taylor is the year they fail :)

I mean Colorado beat them last year, it just didn't matter as they lost all of their last 7 games after winning all of their first 5, it was a weird season for them. This year they just got done laying a smackdown on Colorado State. Nebraska really shouldn't be ranked. Nebraska is more offense oriented while Colorado has a first year HC with a defensive background, but a team that could put up 52 against CSU. Mind you South Alabama and CSU both were about equally bad last year, since the first win of Colorado is more telling than the first win of Nebraska IMO.

Prediction: I give that game to Colorado by at least 10 points then both those teams will be unranked in week 3.

Edit: I also have Colorado winning their first 5 games this year then losing all of their games after except for UCLA and maybe an upset on USC.

RB doesn't matter. Taylor was Big 10 player of the week and his PFF grade was lousy.

Boise St wins 14-7 over Sagarin ranked 88 Marshall

Arizona State (47 ranked) only up 12-0 over Sacramento St. (199) who can't move the ball. That game is early 4th quarter on PAC12 Network which no one watches.

I’m hopeful Cincinnati pushes OSU this morning. Intriguing game.

Want Tulane to push Auburn. Will it happen, no, but it'd be great if it did.

Rooting big for Maryland. Be great if they are ranked when we play them

Army just rolled right down the field on Michigan.

Wolverines just tied up with Army. Got crafty with a fake punt to keep the drive alive.

Maryland now up 21-7.
Syracuse can't stop 'em.

Maryland has PSU next week and could be 7-0 when they play us if they beat PSU.

Annd Army fumbles, sets up a Michigan touchdown.

SCRATCH THAT. Refs spotted the ball down around the 20. First play of the Mich drive, fumble, Army recovers.

Syracuse can not stop Maryland. 21-7 at the end of the first quarter.

Maryland Scores again.
Today against Syracuse they look like they did against us last year.

It will be hard for them to lose today at this point.

Maryland looks awesome

Seriously. They look great.

And how about Army? Locked in a 7-7 tie with Michigan about halfway through the second quarter and they have the ball deep in the Wolverines territory.

Syracuse just scored a touchdown. Then missed the extra point.

Maryland always seems to be an anomaly. Sometimes they look like a tough team and then another week they'll seem to be not so good.

And just like that......Army takes a 14-7 lead over Michigan closing in on the half.

Army wore down the Michigan Defense and just plowed into the endzone.
