PJ was on today with Grim and Mark Rosen at the state fair.

Nothing too notable if you've been paying attention.

Notes:
Sam Schleuter will be left tackle. He's gotten a lot better and his body is a lot better.

Talked about SDSU. Not a lot of tape. Will do what we do and adjust on what they see first couple drives.

Rosen asked about defensive turnaround. PJ said 4 year old's can mow lawns, but at some point they get old enough and wise enough to mow the lawn. Last year after Illinois, the coordinator spot was changed and at that time in the players development, they were hitting the point of understanding how to play defense. The timing of their development and the new coach coincided which gave that good result.

Talked about running backs.
They have a "yard bucket". The RB's are all throwing their yards into a bucket. It won't be just one guy. They are all very self-less. All RB's were mentioned, but Cam Wiley was called out. Comparison to Laurence Maroney again. He's the biggest back they have. Definitely sounds like he will get playing time.

Fan questions
One asked how PJ stays fit. PJ mentioned Heather is big on fitness and they walk each night. He doesn't do protein shakes anymore. Those days are gone.

Someone asked about recruiting. As classes get filled, how does he keep spots open for key recruits.
Said he is recruiting one RB next year and already has him. Not recruiting anymore. If it's a LB position, and they want 4, he might recruit 3 and leave that spot open for that one guy they REALLY want. But otherwise when they are full, they are full and move on to the next year.
