Not $hitting you....I did a fantasy draft....simulated after about twenty rounds. Ended up with Blake Cashman and Ryan Connelly as backups at MLB. Cashman is a 68 overall. Connelly is a 65. :)

FYI....

I decided to do a Twitter search for Blake Cashman. Apparently, he’s killing it in practice, and is even taking first team reps. It’s early, but so far, so good.

per Shooter:

Blocking tight end Maxx Williams left the Gophers for the NFL draft after his sophomore season and received a $4.05 million, four-year contract that included a $1.2 million signing bonus as the second-round pick of the Baltimore Ravens. This season, Williams, now 25, is playing for the league veteran minimum $805,000 with the Arizona Cardinals. It’s unclear if he’ll make the team.

per Shooter:

It’ll be interesting to see ex-Gopher Marcus Sherels in a Saints uniform when the Vikings, for whom Sherels reliably returned punts for nine seasons, play in New Orleans on Friday evening. The Vikings declined to extend Sherels, 31, after paying him $1.4 million last season.

Sherels signed a $930,000 (only $90,000 guaranteed) one-year deal that’s basically a tryout with the Saints.

At 6'10" and over 300 pounds, it is worth giving him a shot at OL.

I'd be really surprised if the Cardinals don't sign BBC after his release from the Texans. They only kept 3 CB's, outside of Patrick Peterson (suspended first 6 games) and Robert Alford (injured, will miss the first handful of games as well).

Damn that sucks for BBC! Hope he gets picked up eventually, but that's really too bad.

I heard the Vikings might need some corner depth.

No longer will I turn off CBS's game of the week when the Jets are on.

Sudden impact: Former college walk-on Blake Cashman could be a difference maker on Jets defense

When it comes to surprising walk-on players with scholarships, the Minnesota Golden Gophers football program is among the more creative.

They’ve used t-shirt guns in meeting rooms. Personalized messages on the jumbotron at practice. Parachuters have dropped in to deliver the good news. During spring practices in 2017, at the end of Blake Cashman’s sophomore year, they organized an Easter egg hunt: The Elite Egg Extravaganza.

Paired with a partner, players hunted around the school’s athletic facilities for eggs. Some had candy inside and others Nike gear. It was a bonding experience, with a caveat.

After finding all the hidden eggs, players returned to the team meeting room where they found one more sitting on each chair. Inside each egg was a piece of paper that said “Blake: Congratulations. You’re on scholarship.”

“You know what the first thing he said was?” defensive coordinator Joe Rossi recalled.

Did not see the game, but saw that Cashman played 21 snaps and had two tackles including one tackle for loss.
