BTW, love the Sheriff selection balds.

This thread would be my mix tape from hell, but I love the picks. I remember slow dancing to this one in 84.

Two of the best bands and best songs of all time in my past two posts. Another top ten band and fantastic song here. Just wanted to give some background prior....since it's very relevant to the previous song. Veruca Salt's singer/guitarist, Louise Post had dated Dave Grohl right after he went through his divorce in 1996/1997. Everlong was widely considered to be written about Post. He ended up breaking up with Post a year or two later over the phone from overseas when his band was on tour. Around the same time, Veruca Salt was dissolving, as the other lead singer/guitarist, Nina Gordon was quitting. The result of the third Veruca Salt album (which I think is nearly as good as their debut) is mostly scathing of both Nina Gordon and Dave Grohl.

I remember something about Dave and Louise found together under the stage at a show. Hell of a place to start a relationship.

April Wine, one of my first favorite bands. Nature of the Best might have been one of my first tapes; could have been Quiet Riot or Ratt too I guess. Who knows!

rock ballad:

1.melodic vocals

2.robust, rhythmic drum beat

3.guitarists doing coke in between power chords.

BTC1899, this is your thread. Out of curiosity, do you have a specific era that you are requesting here?

80's hair metal is one of the worst things to ever happen to music. :(

I'm just glad that I didn't have to suffer through the 80's music scene.

Everlong is not in any way a ballad.

this is a ballad

Wildcard that may not get many likes, but I am not ashamed.
