Murphy. I think Amir winds up roving the G League for a couple years, then Europe. Murphy will prove it enough right away in the G League to get some NBA games next season.

I think Amir is going to get a two-way deal and end up playing in a few NBA games next season. Whether he sticks there or gets a guaranteed deal for the 14th roster spot depends on how much he improves. Has a ways to go to even become a rotational NBA player.

I really like Murph, but don't think he ever plays in the NBA. There just isn't much of a market for 6'6"-6'7" guys who can't shoot outside of 10-12 feet. He'll go make some solid money overseas.

I would agree although I think it will take longer for Amir to develop and make it to the NBA.

My gut tells me Murphy will get his cup of tea first, but ultimately Amir is far more likely to stick.

Coffey looks much more like a prototypical NBA wing than Murphy does PF due to Coffey’s size. I’d definitely go with Amir.

Murphy right now is at least projected as a draft pick...

Murphy will be picked by the San Antonio Spurs with their third pick, which is late second round. Murphy will then go on to secure a spot on the team as a rebound specialist. In 3 to 5 years he will be an NBA all-star.
Amir Coffey will wallow on a squad in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan where he will become a practicing Buddhist and eventually join a monastery as a monk.

Someone had to have promised Coffey a draft pick right? Without a promise I bet he would have stayed in school. I bet the Magic take him in the second round. He fits their mold of tall lean athletic players they seem to be stockpiling.
Lets not forget about Nate Mason either. He had several decent G-league games last season once he was fully healthy so I'd like to have him considered in this race too.

I'd vote for Nate.

I'd be surprised of someone did. Might have promised him a two-way deal. If there was a promise of drafting him my guess would be the Kings. They were his last workout before deciding to stay in in the draft, and they have three second round picks.

Mason has almost no chance of playing in the NBA. He hasn't even started a game in the G League yet and will be 24 years old when this next season starts. He and Murph would both be smart to sign overseas contracts so they can make more money while they still can play.

Coffey's wingspan is only 6'7. He's the opposite of what the Magic are looking for.

I think they both get a little run.

In baseball, they used to call guys who were good minor league players but probably not every day major league players as being AAAA. In a really smart move, the NBA essentially created a real minor league system with the G-League and 2-way contracts. People shouldn't talk about being drafted the same way they did 3-4 years ago. There were something like 50 players on 2-way contracts who played in the NBA last year. I think that number is going to continue to increase. The fact that almost 50% of the people on here don't think Amir will play a minute in the NBA is lunacy. It can only mean that you haven't been watching the NBA the last couple of years.

Now, Amir might choose to go to Europe, there is more money there. But it'd be pretty surprising if Amir doesn't get some run in the NBA.

Murphy, but let’s be honest neither will probably play in the nba.

This guy ^^^ gets it.
