Mike Chalberg with the worst uniform in the Gophers history. Though they did beat Wisconsin wearing it.

Man was that a fun game! No Decker, no problem. Weber played his fanny off that game!

Agreed. The Gophers couldn't stop some WR/kick returner for MSU...no lead was safe until that crazy bounce and catch by Bennett for the 4th Q TD.

Halloween games at the bank....almost beat Michigan recently on Halloween...should have. Don't get me started on the Claeys play and clock mismanagement on at the end of that game. Good grief, Charlie Brown!!

Luke Leverson #7 - scoring a TD on a punt return vs IL 10/16/99

Billy played on this field in 1947. A blizzard before homecoming. Throwback article here. Excellent work on this.

Can we all agree?....No Leidner pictures tomorrow?

I shouldn't even response to this, but PLEASE. This kid gave EVERYTHING he had as a Golden Gopher, and then some.

I'd take all of the Leidners we can get! He had heart!

Wasn't perfect, but Mitch was an all time Gopher
No. 3 in passing yards
No. 5 in passing TDs
No. 4 in rushing TDs
No. 2 total offense yards
No. 3 total TDs
Two-time bowl winner
Won @ Nebraska
Won the Jug @ Michigan
Curb stomped Iowa

Dude...his senior stats were 8 TDs to 12 INT...4 of those TDs were against Indian State and then he had 1 TD against Washington State that should've been picked off. All of those stats were on a team that won 9 games...He was a TE playing QB who got a lot of carries in the red zone.

The "he had big heart" card is silly after a while. He was a below average QB.

You're just a big unappreciative jerk. He did the best he was capable of and is and always will.be a Gopher!

He was an eyelash away from having a winning record vs Michigan. I'm glad he was a Gopher and I appreciated his efforts a lot. But I'm also glad we can look forward to improved play. Those 2 thoughts don't have to be mutually exclusive.

1 week until KO! Hating the 8pm KO though.

I would rather take more talented players who win more football games. But you do you.

Make it what you will. Having played, though decades ago, I'd much rather have a player with heart that will give it their all than one who might not want to be here. With 85 scholarships, and 105 plus players, there is room for both.

Love the last line by the commentator, "He's a big running back, not to say he's a bad quarterback."

And yet he was the best on the roster. As someone else posted, there should have been someone else recruited. Like it or not he gave his best, and he was a pretty darn good leader.
