The Gophers have received a commitment from Anoka Minn. linebacker Cody Lindenberg. The class of 2020 linebacker chose Minnesota over offers from South Dakota State, Northern Iowa and North Dakota, among others.

The 6-foot-2, 205-pound outside linebacker is rated as a three-star player, according to 24/7 Sports rankings. He posted a 4.76 40-yard dash, a 4.22 shuttle and a 30.20-inch vertical, according to Nike Opening Regional statistics. These type of athletic metrics leave potential to use him in a variety of different ways in the defense. This coaching staff has prioritized adding players with high testing metric categories. In this case, Lindenberg’s shuttle is the above average area of his skill set.

He is the ninth player to join the 2020 recruiting class and is the third local product set to wear maroon and gold. I'll have more on this addition in future recruiting content!

Until then, here's Lindenberg's film:

He'll be a great get. Sound on his feet both offensively and defensively, doesn't allow a blocker to push him one way or another, just stays the course. With some time in the weight room he'll be solid.
