Former Houston Rockets draft pick Royce White and 2007 NBA number one overall pick Greg Oden were among the notable names selected in the Big 3 draft held Wednesday night.

White was the 16th overall pick in the 2012 NBA draft and had well documented issues with mental health, including a fear of flying.

During the draft, he wore a shirt that read “I Flew Here.” White joins the Enemies with Lamar Odom, Gilbert Arenas, Perry Jones III, Craig Smith, and Frank Robinson.

Oden played only 82 NBA games due to chronic knee injuries after being the top pick in the 2007 NBA draft. Oden, who was the seventh pick in the first round of the Big 3 draft will play for the Aliens, with Kendrick Perkins, Shannon Brown and Andre Owens.

per ESPN:

Former NBA player Royce White says his basketball days are over as he prepares for a career in mixed martial arts.

White, a first-round draft pick of the Houston Rockets in 2012, said he believes he could one day compete for the UFC's heavyweight belt.

"I'm one of the best athletes in the world," White told ESPN's Kevin Arnovitz. "Among the NBA community, part of my appeal as a draft prospect was my unique size, athleticism, vision and that I probably have one of the 10 biggest set of hands in the NBA. I think all of those things will translate beautifully to the UFC."

White, 27, released a book on Wednesday called "MMA x NBA: A Critique of Modern Sport in America." He says he has been training for "six or seven months."

So I guess his basketball days are not over... but who really knows if he's going to play in this, do MMA or be a no-show for both.

Fiat Turin has signed Royce White to a one-year deal as announced in July, though the two sides have parted ways per the team’s official statement.

White failed to attend the team’s training camp for the upcoming season, thus Turin decided to exclude him from their roster and seek out for a replacement.

27-year-old White was set to make his European debut with the Italian side, arriving from the Canadian League.

I ran into Royce waiting in line at Chipotle, seemed like a really good dude. He still lives in the metro and works with metro basketball kids, when I spoke with him he said he had just got done working with suggs.

Royce should get into acting, can't believe he was able to deliver that line with a straight face. He should probably aim a little lower then Lebron when finding players to compare his game to but have to love the confidence :)
