Undrafted Gopher Prospects

I remember being told how young and untalented the guys were and it would get better over the years. Sometimes the coaching just isn’t very good for a variety of reasons and teams underperform. Considering how much confusion was evident, the slow to react players, and even lack of fundamental tackling there seemed to be a negative feedback loop going on that manifested in the guys losing faith or morale or “want to” as Kill eloquently put it. Shades of Nebraska 2017 and other examples over the years.

Rossi’s simplified scheme and leadership seemed to light a fire and the rest is history. Little things...

IMHO, Robb Smith lost the focus by causing players to either get confused or to think too much instead of react in his complicated schemes which became an end in itself. It is amazing what Rossi's simplification of the Defense have accomplished.

I hope that Rossi will emphasize teaching fundamental football like how to tackle properly. That plus relying on experienced players to take the leadership role in team defense. PJ Fleck has been recruiting speed and strength on the defensive side, and has raised the bar for intense competition for spots on the depth chart.

The hope for the future is that more players in defense will get drafted into the NFL.

Did not think this was worth a new thread but update on Jalen Myrick

Myrick was at NY Giants minicamp but left without signing a deal.

Also this is from gopher football twitter account:

Former #Gophers star Jalen Myrick is competing in the upcoming 40 Yards of Gold, where he will be racing against some of the NFL's fastest players. But first, he needs your votes to help his seeding. Vote Myrick!
