Probably not a lot of options. The previous games the Gophers played in Sioux Falls were after the football regular season and coincided with the date of the Big 10 Championship. Now the Big 10 basketball season starts the same weekend.

Guessing they did not want to do it Thanksgiving weekend, so that leaves whatever weekends are before that. Might be the only weekend it worked out for all parties.
