Figured we could dedicate a thread to this. National reporter Evan Daniels predicted yesterday on 247sports that Sam Freeman, center from Texas, would be choosing Minnesota. (https://247sports.com/PlayerInstitution/Sam-Freeman-at-Northwest-220239/CurrentExpertPredictions/)

From Fuller:

Richard Pitino was so impressed with Sam Freeman last summer that he offered the Texas big man a scholarship after watching him block and dunk all over opponents during the Gophers’ team camp.

Pitino and the Gophers were one of the first high majors to show serious interest.

Now the 6-foot-10 senior at Northwest High in Justin, Texas is considering Minnesota among his college destinations with an announcement scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Thursday at his school.

So if it's not Texas A&M (following Buzz) or the Gophers, can we assume Freeman might be concerned about the Arkansas rumors?

I saw his squad at the team camp last summer. He is super athletic, but Dainja from Park Center was dominating him for the most part. He def has potential defensively

I think that the Freeman signing would be huge for us. Gives us a Center that isn't a huge project like Bakery Konate or Diediue. He gives us needed size. Has the potential to develop into a quality backup behind Oturu and possibly a start once Oturu graduates or he leaves early.

It was between Virginia Tech, Minnesota, and TCU.

so either there are concerns or Freeman wanted to stay in state yet Buzz wasn't willing to recruit him at A&M so Freeman decides to go to TCU instead.

All signs point to him signing here so not exactly sure why there is any concern in the first place.

That was my thought as well. I've been waiting to hear that Freeman is postponing his announcement. I guess we'll know in 40 minutes. Go Gophers!!!

TCU looks like they are going to lose their coach too*

In reference to Williams to A&M, not the Pitino rumors
