I will never understand why these have to be scheduled so far out. There are 128ish FBS teams playing 12 games each. Division 1 basketball has 300+ teams and 30 games each. Yet they can figure it out year to year. It makes no sense why you'd schedule a game 16 years from now. There will likely not be a single person that is currently involved in either football program (University president, AD, Coaches, support staff, etc.) that will be there in 16 years.
 

I’m out of my element herebut why not schedule much sooner - like next year. Cancel whatever patsies they have scheduled , pay the buyouts and capture the current hype these schools have. Surely the respective conferences could renegotiate with tv networks to juice the pot and make it happen. Make non-conference schedules great again.
