per the WSJ:

Zion Williamson is hard to miss. The best player in college basketball gobbles attention everywhere he goes and blends into crowds about as well as an elephant. One night a few years ago, when he was only 16 years old, he went to his local college on a Saturday night for a game. He did not exactly go unnoticed.

“It was like John Lennon walked into the building,” said Wofford coach Mike Young.

Williamson was already being courted by Duke, North Carolina, Kentucky and Kansas, but he found himself squeezing into the bleachers of a quaint arena to be wooed by the very first school that had offered him a scholarship: the Wofford Terriers.

He picked Duke, the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA tournament, but you knew that. By now you know a lot about Zion Williamson: basketball alien, human Jeep, god of sneaker destruction. The likely national player of the year appears to be a generational talent and No. 1 pick in the upcoming NBA draft. He’s only a college freshman, but like LeBron, Steph and Giannis, it already feels redundant to call him by anything other than his first name. He’s just Zion.

You may not know as much about Wofford.

But this small, private liberal-arts college in Spartanburg, S.C., about 10 minutes from Zion’s high school, has the potential to be the team that everyone’s talking about by next week. The Wofford Terriers haven’t lost since December. They’re a No. 7 seed in the NCAA tournament, the highest of any Southern Conference team since Davidson College in 2008, when a team led by some guy named Steph made it within one shot of the Final Four.

Wofford could be the most compelling team. Zion is the most electrifying player. It’s only natural to wonder: What if Zion went to Wofford?

When asked if he ever thought about it, Young had the sort of response that only a college basketball coach would say with a straight face.

“I’m not sure he would’ve fit in here with our motion-style offense,” he said.

He went silent for an uncomfortable second in which it seemed possible that he was serious.

“I’m kidding,” he said. “Hell yeah I’ve thought about it!”

Go Gophers!!

What if the Gophers had Zion? Would we have won the Big Ten? #1 seed?

The ball handling and 3-ball woes would remain but him and Murphy up front...yikes. Let Amir run point and go with Coffey, Gabe, Zion, Murphy, and Oturu in a scary lineup.
