Gophers record in games that Amir Coffey has played over the last three years. 58-25 if you subtract two games he played last season with a busted shoulder. As good as Murphy has been, Amir's value maybe even higher.

If wins is the criteria, yes Coffey is significantly more valuable.

Coffey’s big ten record is 25-22
Murphy’s is 29-51.

Murphy won 6 big ten games combined his freshmen and junior year. Coffey was only on 1 bad team, and he missed most of the year.

I think it’s a little more complicated than that, but you are right that the results are staggering. We will learn a lot next year when Coffey is the face of the team.

A little misleading.
If coffee had to play a bunch of games without Murphy his record would be worse. Since Murphy had to play a bunch of games without coffee, his record is worse.

To me the important message is that you need more than one really good player on the court.

I think my main point is that the Gophers have been pretty good the past three years with their full complement of players. I think Pitino can and should do better...with even better players. Thats always the catch.
