Go Gophers!!

He gets mocked at times and sometimes is a little out there but it really is amazing that he is still as active as he is in the local sports scene at 99.

You can see the joy on his face in the picture where he is holding the Axe. So glad he was able to do that again. Guy has been a true supporter of the U of M over his long career.

NO. MATTER. WHAT.

If you aren’t in a wheelchair, and your mind is still reasonably clear, when you’re freakin’ 99 years old ..... you’ve won the lottery.

Congrats!

Listened to the Sports Huddle every Sunday I could over the years. He is a legend. If he makes 100 years and is still on the radio there will be a lot of celebrities there to celebrate with him. For those of you who make fun of him...see how well you do when you get to this age.

Most people will be long dead before they even make it to 99! Hope he makes it to 100. It will be an incredible day for Sports Huddle for his birthday next year. Maybe we can get some recruits to declare on this day next year!

So the Gophers had 17,000 season tickets for football in 1937. wonder how many they wind up with for 2019?

Amazing to read the difference in the college football topics of the day, like if player X would get discharged from the Marines in time for the season.

Happy Birthday Sid! You are truly a Sports Media legend.

Media legend but complete asshole!

Yup. Just have a hard time respecting anyone who has treated people like Sid has. You can be a "legend" and still treat people appropriately and with some respect. Sid has a history of not doing that.
