per the Star Telegram:

Football recruits experience all sorts of oddities during their time on various campuses across the country.

They see the best that each school has to offer and sometimes the worst.

The Star-Telegram reached out to numerous high school football recruits for an anonymous survey on some of their experiences on the recruiting trail and how they believe some in-state programs stack up to others, amongst other questions.

2. Were you offered any cash or gifts?

No (8)

Yes (0)

Others: Just football gear

10. Best coach when it comes to recruiting?

Lincoln Riley, Oklahoma (1)

Mike Elston, Notre Dame (1)

Garrett Tujague, Virginia (1)

PJ Fleck, Minnesota (1)

Nicholas Edwards, Cal (1)

Nick Saban, Alabama (1)

Rich Renner, Midwestern State (1)

Go Gophers!!

Wonder if Nnamdi Adin-Madumere was polled? He's from DFW area and seems likely to name PJ Fleck.

This could maybe fit him too: “I play WR and was recruited to play tight end/defensive end at Penn State, TCU, LSU, Texas, Nebraska and Oklahoma State.”

If the numbers are in fact votes and there was only 8 responses then this isn't even noteworthy, a serious inept piece of reporting.

100% agreed. Writer should have known better and so should have the Star Telegram.

A recent survey asked who the best Gopherholer is and GophersInIowa received 100% of the votes.

There was only one response

Sure is. It's fine to use quotes but to try and make quantitative data of 8 people is pretty bad.

I vote for a full congressional hearing and a third party investigation using millions of taxpayers dollars.

so, one could say that Fleck received 12.5% of the votes. Or one could say he tied for 1st place (with 1 vote).

Depends on your point of view.

It is ironic that when the headline came out with "Fleck tied with Saban for best recruiter," a lot of people on Twitter were proclaiming this as further affirmation of Fleck, and taking more shots at Kill. Then, someone actually read the story, and found out it was based on 8 players, and Fleck got one vote.

It’s hard to believe people on twitter would state opinions without examining the source data, or post things without considering alternative perspectives.

The GH social accounts have to get their clicks/impressions/engagement somehow, great job team!
