Nebraska RB faces revenge porn and child porn charges in state of California

I don't really get it. I thought 90% of all minors had naked videos of each other on their phones? Are they all going to be charged with minor revenge porn? I thought revenge porn was posting it on the internet, not sending it to the original participant.

He sent it to her with the message "Remember this hoe."

From the article:

"Washington, who dated the victim during his freshman year at The King’s Academy High School in Sunnyvale, is being charged under the “Revenge Porn” law because he’s accused of sending the video to inflict emotional damage on the victim. Because the victim was 15 when the video was recorded, he’s also being charged with distribution of child pornography, a felony."

Pick up the internet and read about non violent crimes and legislation in CA. It’s not a secret where things are going, particularly in certain locales with certain voting demographics. Now the thread has totally derailed - you are welcome.

What do you exactly mean by this? You constantly let your political bias cloud your judgement. Go ahead and keep making stuff up, at least you believe it. Give one example of where California is weak in prosecuting child pornographer felons.

I’m glad you would never allow that to happen.

IMO the child pornography charge will be reduced to a misdemeanor, at worst. The revenge porn charge may be hard to prove in all its tenets - seems like this normally involves disseminating material publicly without consent leading to great distress to a participant, for obvious reasons. I’m not sure how much the charge will hold up if he only disseminated it to a participant.

And, there is usually more to the story we don’t know about yet (or will likely ever know).

Just link to the story where you read this instead of pretending this is your interpretation of the current law in California.

Some folks you just can't reach man. Crazy folks on the radio and TV got them scared and/or hate everyone and everything that they never even had contact with... the world is lot of "those people" to them. They're taught to see division in everything, how people greet each other, how people look, food choices, minor local ordinances. They're taught that it is relevant to every aspect of life. So much so that they bring it up at random times, like on sports forums. Any other opinion or thought is extreme and terrible, just like the folks on TV and the radio taught them to belive, because that's the way they want them, dependent and divided, and cut off from the other people that the folks on the radio and TV don't like.

Well said. Makes me sad, but you hit the nail on the head.

The irony (and ignorance) in this post is incredible. Making observations of politicians and legislation, district attorney decisions is worlds apart from blind political allegiances and hate. Get a grip.

I’ll say it again, if you think he’s going to serve any sort of serious time for these non-violent charges...don’t know what to tell you. CA is mandated to keep State prison populations controlled, diverting participants to local jails and are local jails are stuffed. The reform movements are predicated on the idea young black men are unfairly targeted...I’ll eat crow if I’m wrong but we won’t know for some time. Just my (apparently political) opinion and observation.

Again, another confirmation of the most accurate moniker.

Do we get to cook the crow for you? How about boiled with the feathers on?

For those that want to be spoon fed here is some easily digestible information. Note the overpopulations, the early releases, the lower commitment rates in urban areas. The kid has a good lawyer. Boiled crow tastes like chicken, I hear. Won’t be so bad if it comes to that.

Thanks for the links.

Here is your original statement:

"But, California has become so crime-friendly and law enforcement a revolving door due to an overstressed system and hands off politicians I’m a bit surprised they’re hotly pursuing this or whether it will ever end up as an infraction with jail/prison time. What’s in the wind down there in casa Frost? Going to keep him?"

I see in the links you posted that California, like the rest of the US, is finally coming to realize that being among the world leaders in percentage of population under incarceration is not desirable. Not unless you want to compete with the likes of North Korea.

But where in the links you provided did it state that California is mandating a "crime-friendly" policy?

Just figuring that one out?

Doubt that he will be off the team this coming fall. He made it through last year without any problems. I did think that Nebraska had more brains than what has been displayed. I clearly was wrong as in Minnesota he would have been off last fall. I didn't think we were that far apart, but clearly we are.

My answer to young black or white players: if you can’t do the time, don’t do the crime.

If you are trying to display the persona of an a$$hole, you are crushing it.

I'm gonna disagree with Pompous. Although black, this guy is a cis male that personifies toxic masculinity and male privilege by playing football. He's guilty until proven innocent when it comes to a girl's hurt feels. It's already obvious they're going to go after this guy hard. It's a felony to send a video back to someone that was in a video? I thought revenge porn was posted to the internet? Their whole school had the video three years ago when they all were minors, is the rest of the school being charged now that they're of age?
