Where do you get that from? I'm the farthest thing from a Bernie supporter and Uncle Joe Biden is not a good candidate either.

What is wrong with Tulsi and who exactly do you think is a good candidate to beat Trump?

I think some of the examples in this column are pretty minor, but overall I tend to agree with the premise: if it weren't for having endorsed Bernie, no one would consider Gabbard progressive.

In terms of beating Trump, I think Harris or Klobuchar or Bernie or Biden or Sherrod Brown would have as good or better chance.

There isn't one. Trump is running a time release presidency with his 2020 campaign directing it. It is planned out. It is obviously more difficult than he expected, but he more in reserve than any of you can imagine.

I think this is very accurate. The Trump Administration is attempting to implement its agenda with expectations of how its success will be judged in the future, most specifically with the Wall and Trade, rather than concerning itself with how its judged in the present.

IMO, Obama did much of the opposite. He hoped that people would forget what he said or did after ramming the Obamacare through and signing highly regulatory executive orders. Sure, Obama tried to cherry pick the benefitis of Obamacare afterwards, like pre-existing conditions, but they’d prefer to be vague about the actual outcomes compared to what he promised, like not adding a dime to the deficit, keep your doctor/plan, 30 million more insured, etc.

I’m not saying that all Presidents don’t try to sell their plans and outcomes after the fact, or that Trump doesn’t say and do different things periodically, but the Trump Administration believes in and is betting on outcomes of their plans more than usual, like deterring illegal immigration/securing the border.

If Trump gets funding for a physical barrier and a border security agreement is made, this shutdown and Trump’s blame for it will be a insignificant memory for voters, or possibly a positive for Trump.

diehard, I like the “time release presidency” phrase. Good one.
