    Default Happy Birthday

to Jimmy Page. 75 years old. I now we have a few Zeppelin fans here on OT. Thought I'd share this with any Jimmy, Yardbirds, Zeppelin fans. If you listen to the whole thing you will hear some early, early Zeppelin takes.

Incredible talent and I love Zeppelin but some of the shine is off once I heard how blatantly they ripped off some of their hits like Stairway.

Zeppelin kicks a$$. One of the all time greatest bands. Best classic rock band, imo.

You don't even have the mental faculties to be somewhat clever any longer.

little bit of rock trivia. When Jimmy Page was putting the group together, he was talking about using the name "New Yardbirds." according to legend, John Entwistle, the bass player of the Who, derisively said the group would go over "like a lead Zeppelin" - the brit equivalent of a lead balloon. another version of the story attributes the quote to Who drummer Keith Moon. To me, it sounds more like something Moon would have said - depending on how drunk he was at the time. But Page and the band's manager decided to take the name and use it, just adjusting the spelling of "lead" to "led"
