All Things 2019 Recruiting Class Signing Day Thread!

Looks like Wiley got his letter in.

Curious.....Are the pictures in the tweets showing their actual jersey numbers? If so, has there ever been a defense that starts three guys with the same number? Harris, Cheney and Schad are all shown wearing #5.

Sorry if this was already stated somewhere, but do we know how many of these signings will be early enrollees in January?

So is that everybody then or are we still waiting on one?

It's part of the new defensive scheme. When the opponent says "watch out for number 5," players won't know which number 5.

Very impressive class...great job by PJ and the entire coaching staff. Congrats, gentlemen!

Who is the signee that Clemson tried to grab late?

It isn't Williams because Burns said it was a signee.

I thought NCAA and or BIG rules prevented something like this from being done.

I think it's a blue shirt. So long as we didn't have a coach do an in house visit, host him on an official visit, or send him a letter, he's not considered "recruited"

So with the numbers we’re at, how much room does PJ have to work with with those that are left over and any other gopher targets that didn’t sign or aren’t expected to?

Gophers official football Twitter feed showed 23 posts with "placards" for lack of a better term ... ie, a picture of the player in a Gophers uniform, with name, position, city/state, etc.

Did that mean all 23 of those actually signed NLI's? So none of them could be PWO's? What about the two gray shirts? Do they sign the NLI in the class, and then just wait to enroll until later, or what? Because it does show Richter signing now.

Two of them were a long snapper and a kicker, not sure if we're spending scholarships on those. And two of them were what I thought everyone had agreed (or it was known) were grayshirts.

Excessively confusing. I don't think I'm going to have a good handle on who our 25 and 85 for the 2019 season are until it's all said and done and someone spells it out ....

Yes to scholarships for the specialists. Both of them.

Two Maroon shirts who are not counting against the 2019 class. I'd guess we are at like 23 scholarships for the year so far due to the two guys who gray shirted last year (I believe) Leaves 1 open spots for undecided and all that. Who knows what PJ and Co have in the works. Williams would be one of those if he signs. Maybe they are seeing what else happens today and have some plans.

No. Numbers aren’t determined until before fall practice. Seniority determines what choices the players can use. Quite a few current players started out with different numbers as Freshman and Sophomores.

And what about Howden and Zach Annexstad? I’ve read several conflicting posts on here about them getting scholarships in Jan 2019 or not.

Are you saying two of the 23 guys with placard tweets are maroon shirts? Does that mean they sign NLIs now, or were their posts just honorary?

Expect 2020 to be the year. Then they just count in the 85 and not signing class... ( At least with z.a. expect it)

Man it would be great, when it’s all said an done, if someone could spell out who exactly our 85 are for the 2019 season and which class they “belong” to. Might take a degree in rocket science.

He walked on. That's all there is to know. The recruiting process doesn't force you to give a preferred walk on a scolly after x amount of years. However, if you wait 2 years it doesn't count towards the recruiting class.
Every players situation is different. I'm sure p.j. has these discussions with everyone. If howdens families financials dictate they can't pay for college then p.j. has a decision to make.. give him one or possibly watch him leave.
Once all the transfers shake out of the tree they will see what's left over, pick up the pieces and offer them to whomever is deserving
