Perhaps Gophers come up with a nice Bowl win, with the young team and a lot of returning talent, think they get much off-season love?

Think it is incredibly doubtful

No. And, I wouldn't be surprised if most national prognostications and seasons previews have the Gophers slated to finish fourth or fifth in the West Division next year.

My projection of the average projection of the west:
1) Iowa
2) Nebraska
3) Wisconsin
4) Purdue
5) Northwestern
6) Minnesota
7) Illinois

Agreed. I was probably even too optimistic of most media preditions. At any rate, nowhere near ranked to start the season.

If Brohm leaves they’ll be picked 6th and we will bump to 5

If we know nothing else, it is that Minnesota has to EARN any national credibility before a nice ranking will be offered.

No love for 8-1 NW and a lot of confidence for a second year coach coming off a losing season. This might be the actual predictions, but I don't think that is how the conference will shake out.
